Ashley Cole off Abroad

Article that has appeared on THE SUN website today.

The news everyone on the planet was expecting was announced yesterday that Cheryl Cole has decided to file for divorce from Ashley Cole after his well documented "walk on the wild side" in recent months. I think all of us would love for our boys to just concentrate on their football next season as we have had more than enough publicity for the players off-pitch exploits aswell as on it this season.

The problem it seems that Ashley Cole is now faced with apart from being public enemy number one in some peoples eyes is the hightened publicity of what is a difficult time for both of them. Cheryl has said that she wanted it over and done with so he could concentrate on the World Cup with a clear head but let's be honest if you were in his shoes it would be nothing but.

To his credit in footballing terms Ashley Cole has been faultless on the pitch for Chelsea and people argue, right or wrong, that its what he does on the pitch that should be all that matters. No doubt this will be ignored this Summer as wherever you watch the game there will be the boo-boys making themselves heard. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The thing is, its these opinions that could force Cole to make the decision to say "enough is enough!" and get on a plane to Madrid to link up once more with Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal fans will tell you, loyalty goes out the window with Ash and as soon as the carrot of all those Euro's are dangled in front of him he will do the same at Chelsea.

If the reports are right, he is really tormented and fears a backlash from his divorce then it could push him over the edge. Let's face it, he hasn't got any ties here in England anymore apart from family and no matter where you are, or where you want to go they will always be there for you.

"King Carlo" and the Chelsea family will now need to be on red alert. I am hoping like alot of you Chelsea fans, that as soon as he steps on the pitch in South Africa he puts it all to one side and he plays a blinder. Its inbetween games, during training, that the likes of JT, Frank and hopefully (if he is there) Joe Cole can put an arm round him and keep his head together. Once he comes back Carlo will need to work his magic to maintain his focus on the ultimate goal for Chelsea and that's the Champions League.

Of course what we can be discussing here could be total rubbish. It could just be paper talk. I have to say Ashley Cole's pre match interview before the FA Cup Final showed Ash as being a determined professional. Have a look for yourselves:

When he was asked in that interview: "Medals or Popularity?.........

Ashley Cole responded saying: "MEDALS! and they won't break me!"

Let's hope he has the same attitude come kick off in August.

CAREFREE & KTBFFH...
